About Us
Magician Foundation India (MFI) began with a simple but powerful dream: to give children from low-income communities, in the slums of Mumbai, the chance to play, learn, and believe in a brighter future. In 2004, a group of young likeminded volunteers came together to teach rugby to children in their own neighbourhoods. For children growing up in narrow lanes with limited opportunities, the idea of a different tomorrow felt out of reach. Through the joy of sport, we opened a window to hope and started with rugby lessons, but we didn’t stop there. We nurtured life skills, encouraged education, and created safe spaces for children to dream beyond their circumstances.
- We are based in Mumbai, India, where we empower a new generation of young lives. What began as a simple yet profound journey over a decade ago has become a beacon of hope for several hundred children from underserved communities. Today, these former “street children” have come full circle, establishing The Magicians Foundation to empower a new generation of young lives.

We have been able to highlight the transformative power of sport, enabling individuals to discover and nurture the talents they possess. Many of these children have embraced rugby professionally, representing their cities, states and even their country on international platforms. This remarkable journey from local ground to global stands as a testament to the Foundation’s dedication to unlocking potential and fostering resilience. Despite the professional achievements the Foundation has allowed the youths a deep sense of responsibility and community.
