Magician Foundation

About Us

Magician Foundation India (MFI) began with a simple but powerful dream: to give children from low-income communities, in the slums of Mumbai, the chance to play, learn, and believe in a brighter future. In 2004, a group of young likeminded volunteers came together to teach rugby to children in their own neighbourhoods. For children growing up in narrow lanes with limited opportunities, the idea of a different tomorrow felt out of reach. Through the joy of sport, we opened a window to hope and started with rugby lessons, but we didn’t stop there. We nurtured life skills, encouraged education, and created safe spaces for children to dream beyond their circumstances.

Today, we continue this mission with:

Since our registration under the Charitable Trust Act in 2017 (Reg. No. E-32923, Mumbai), we have turned slum communities into vibrant fields of play and hope, using sport as a catalyst for social change and optimism for the future.

Core Beliefs That Inspire Us

At Magician Foundation India, we are committed to uplifting disadvantaged youth, including children, adolescents, and girls, by nurturing their health, education, and emotional well-being through the transformative power of sport. Our work is deeply rooted within schools and community centres across India’s urban, semi-urban, and rural regions. Using a scalable, community-driven model, we leverage sport as a powerful tool to enhance physical fitness, improve learning outcomes, and build confidence in young lives—creating a ripple of lasting change.

Hear From Those We’ve Impacted

Priya Sharma

We were looking to support organizations that go beyond just teaching rugby—and Magician does exactly that. Through their Rugby‑For‑Values and Champion projects, they instill life lessons like discipline, respect, and teamwork. Seeing 900+ adolescents train regularly and travel for national-level tournaments is proof that our support isn’t just funding wins—it’s changing lives.

Rajiv Mehta

When we contributed to Magician’s Rugby‑For‑Values programme in Mumbai slums, we didn’t expect such profound ripple effects. These kids improve in school, learn self-confidence, and many go on to mentor others. It’s a powerful multiplier effect—our donation becomes community upliftment.

Lena Kapoor

I was deeply moved to read about children training in five under-resourced communities and competing at the national and Olympic levels. Magician’s transparent allocation—covering coaching, nutrition, uniforms, and travel—gave me confidence. Our month-by-month updates show exactly how our support translates into real opportunities.

Amit Vyas

Magician trained hundreds of adolescents, who’ve learned not just rugby, but teamwork, resilience, and leadership. Many now act as community mentors themselves. That ripple effect—from beneficiary to leader—is why I continue to support them.
